Hi! 👋 I'm Mica, and few years ago, I had just entered motherhood for the first time. It was an experience like no other filled with love, life, and this selfless need to be with my new baby girl. The problem with my fairytale story is that I only had 8 weeks to enjoy it. 8 weeks of maternity leave to heal and to really soak up the moment before I had to go back to my full-time job working for corporate America. The pain of missing out on motherhood made me feel like I really needed to find another way.
So, I launched a test to see if I could create a remote, super-flexible job for myself that also allowed me to prioritize my family AND provided enough for us to make it worth my time and energy. After soul searching, and my passion for motherhood, I made a change to a career I NEVER thought I could/would do...and what happened was nothing I could have ever imagined!
Up until then, I always felt like I had to choose between being a stay-at-home mom or being a working mom. That’s because being a mom AND being successful as a professional (or doing both WELL, I should say) felt impossible.

Looking at all the different options online and in group posts, I felt like I either had to find this perfect job…or had to start my own business that would require a sizable investment and a LOT of costs to get going. nAt that time, with a new baby, it just didn't feel like the right move financially.
It wasn’t long before I started talking to others and quickly found out I wasn’t alone. There were a LOT of my Nurse, Therapist, and Pediatric OT friends who wanted to be moms for their kids, but they wanted to work and provide for their families, too.
Now, I was more determined than ever to find something I could do with an immediate need in my community that felt just as fulfilling as it was rewarding, and that also didn’t forfeit my busy schedule just for the sake of helping make ends meet.
And once I figured that out, I made a promise to myself to teach that same thing to others as well.
That’s when Rested Mama Academy was born!

3. We merged our businesses and co-founded Rested Mama, Happy Baby where we help families establish healthy sleep habits for babies and parents.
4. We started offering certification programs to other moms and professionals like us who wanted to work and provide for their families without sacrificing their motherhood.
